Baby Awesome isn't quite there yet, but she is trying so hard to learn how to crawl...

Happy Birthday to Me!

On July 29th I turned 29! (That's my golden birthday.) So I put on everything gold that I owned and we had a little party to celebrate. Most importantly, there was lots of yummy cake.

My in-laws got me an awesome new purse. And sometimes I'm allowed to use it myself.
Also to celebrate the last hurrah of my twenties, my mom and I had a spa day - and it was fabulous. I was so pampered that I didn't know what do do with myself, and couldn't function for the rest of the evening.

And that's about all I have to say about that.

Six Months Old!

At six months Vi is a smiley happy baby! She can do lots of new tricks:

Scoot around, especially backwards, but without purpose.
Sits up by herself for as long as she wants, and loves to play with the toys.
She has one little tooth that’s popping through.
She’s still wearing a few 3 month clothes, but mostly six months.
Today was her first day in the nursery at church. She did pretty well for missing her morning nap. She started to get fussy towards the end, and wouldn't take a bottle from them - surprise! - so by the time we picked her up she was pretty upset, but calmed down right away.
She’s eating about 20-24oz of soy formula a day (she’s the most distracted eater…  trying to get a whole five ounce bottle down her is usually a struggle), and rice cereal, and she regularly eats pears, apples, bananas, green beans, and peas. She’s had peaches, squash, carrots and sweet potatoes, but they all made her spit up really bad so we’re waiting a little longer to try those again.
And speaking of reflux, she’s down to one dose of meds a day (she was at four, two kinds), and some days she doesn’t have any at all!

She’s such a sweet little thing. We love this baby girl!

The Latest Projects...

So this post is long overdue, but here are the projects that have been keeping us busy these last few months.

We planted a garden! This picture is really old now, but we've gotten a few tomatoes, a few cucumbers, and some jalapenos out of it already! It's WAY overcrowded because we had no idea what we were doing, but you learn as you go. Right?

J has been working on our yard and putting in some block to help move the water away from the house...
We also have lots of beds to plant now.

I painted a wall in our kitchen with chalkboard and magnetic paint. We are loving it!
Bug loves it too!

And more recently... this is the latest growth chart I've made. It was for a friend's daughter's first birthday! (The ladybugs are picture frames.)

The First Movie

Yesterday, we took Bug to see Toy Story 3 in the theaters. This was the first time we'd been to the movies in ages and her first trip to see a movie in the theater EVER.

She did great.

It was a special treat for being potty trained. After more than a year since the first time she went in the potty, I can now say she's pretty much potty trained. We've had our ups and downs, but she hasn't worn a diaper during the day in over a month.

It was a great movie. I cried. (But I cry at everything.) And it got a little scary. Luckily, with perfect timing, she decided right as the scariest part was starting that she needed to go potty.

I must admit though, she was way more excited about the "copcorn" than the actual movie.

I can't make this stuff up...

You may remember two years ago when he made the stereo part.... as if that wasn't enough.
This is what my brother is planning on riding on the annual N.I.T.E. ride through Indy tomorrow. With a person on it.

Welcome Baby Tuck!

We have a new nephew!

BabyTuck was born on June 14!
He was 7lbs 1oz, and 21 inches long
(Which makes him a giant compared to his brother and cousins -  the biggest baby this family has had so far.)

Welcome to the world BabyTuck!

Interview with a Two Year Old

My Dad’s name is: Justin

My Dad is two years old.

His job is toodles. Like Veggie Tales.

If I could spend a whole day with my Dad I would like to go in the basement. And see Dora.

If I could get my Dad a present I would buy him a hammer. I buy a sucker for Daddy.

I like when my Dad Daddy likes me this morning. Daddy likes markers.

My favorite game to play with Daddy is soccer.

His favorite thing to wear is some polka dots on shirt.

Daddy’s favorite thing to eat is jelly.

Daddy looks like Daddy gonna get married.

Daddy is special because cuz Daddy love you. (Daddy loves me or you?) Me.

Cowgirls

Last week MissBug got to ride the horses for the very first time. (She's sat on them before, but only for a second and not moving.)
She was super excited, and did a great job!
And BabyAwesome met the horses for the first time too...
