10 Months Old!

Hard to believe it, but once again another month has passed... and Miss Vi is TEN months old now!

At ten months old:
  • She has seven teeth poking through... one just made an appearance last week, so it's just barely showing.
  • She has transitioned to a low-lactose formula, and we're not doing soy anymore. She also eats everything dairy that I make, so hopefully this means she's grown out of her dairy issues.
  • She cruises on the furniture and walks with your hands like a champ. She can also walk with the push toys.
  • She makes lots of screechy noises and comments on everything, but not so many new words this month.
  • She is a NOSY little thing. Into EVERYTHING, and can't stand to be left out of any conversation or when meeting new people.
Getting a busy ten month old to sit still in a rocking chair and take a decent picture is quite a feat... below is a slideshow of all the pictures I took trying to get the "one." This girl doesn't sit still!

You Can't Make Them Smile

You can put six kids in their Halloween costumes and try to take their pictures... but you can't make them do anything else you might have been hoping for.

Dance Class!

Bug started a new season of dance class this year. This girl LOVES to dance!
Last year, we got off to a good start, but in the end we dropped out after about six weeks because she would sit in the corner and pout. Cross your fingers, but so far we haven't had any of that!

OH! So much has changed in just one year.

I'm going to compare. You can't stop me.

I've been trying really hard for the past nine months to not write posts comparing my girls. They are their own people, and I'm really trying to let them be... I might talk about it, but I figure if I don't write about it, then it won't be permanent. But this time, you can't stop me. They both have cute little friends that are three months apart, and I just can't stop myself from posting these pictures. So there.

Here's Bug and her BFF Sarah on one of their very first playdates... I think we figure Bug is about 10 months old and Sarah is about 7.

Now here are the baby sisters... Abby is about 10 months old here, and Vi is about 7. You can certainly tell both sets are related, but I sure think there are a lot of differences.

Catching Up

In the past few months Miss Vi has changed so much... she's doing so many new things! Here are just a few of the fun things and new things she's done since August.

Loving bath time!

Pulling up

Crawling!

being nosy...

Playing with her big sister.

Hanging out with Mommy & Daddy (Bug took this picture).

Birthday parties, and spending time with her BFF, Abby.

Being outside, especially swinging.

tasting...
and mostly just being cute.

Nine Months Old!

Miss Vi is NINE months old today!

  • She's a super-smiley and happy baby these days. Grins for everyone she sees and waves to them.
  • She crawls and pulls up like a champ, and she's starting to cruise on the furniture a little bit. She never slows down, and really doesn't want to sit still.
  • She will hold your fingers and take steps, but they are big high wobbly steps.
  • She is crazy about finger foods and has graduated from cheerios and puffs to eating just about everything the family eats. She gets pretty upset if we're eating something she can't.
  • She's still on soy formula and we're not sure if she can handle the dairy yet. She does a little yogurt every day, and it hasn't given her a rash, but she does tend to spit-up/throw-up more because of it.
  • She has THREE new teeth! Which makes a total of five.
  • I think she says "ma-ma" with meaning now - which would make that her first word - but I might be dreaming.
  • She signs "all done" when she's eating.
  • She claps and wiggles all the time.
  • She's crazy for her blankie. She does a little giggle and burries her face in it when you give it to her.
  • Weighing in at 17lbs (18%) and 27" long (30%) she's wearing nine months clothes... most of the time.

The First Day of School

This August, Bug started preschool!

She's going to a preschool at a local church, one day a week. Because of her late birthday, she's in the two-year old class... but she'll get used to being the oldest because that's just how life is going to be for her. She's been doing great, and really enjoys it! There are 12 kids in her class, and she had made lots of new friends.

Yesterday, I asked the teacher about how she was doing - behavior wise. Her teacher said she was sweet and great, and listens well when there is a issue - the only problem might be bossiness with the other kids. Hmmm... I wonder where she gets that from?

(backpack I decorated - they all have to have this same one for school)

Trips to the Orchard

I love fall!
One of our favorite things to do in the fall is go to the orchard. We have one about three minutes from our house, so we go just about every week from August through October. It's too hard to have 50 cent apple slushies just minutes from your home, and not take advantage of them.

Bug's 3rd Birthday!

It's so hard to believe that our little Bug could possibly be THREE years old. But the truth is that she is, and she won't let you forget it. She constantly holds up her three little fingers and tells us (and everyone else she sees) "I'm three now!"

The party was fun, but poor little Bug wasn't feeling very well. She had a stomach bug for over a week, and her big day fell right in the middle of it. She woke up feeling pretty good, but by the time we opened presents she was in tears and pretty worn out. J and I held her and opened the presents with her. It was pitiful - and the poor little thing didn't ever even take a bite of her birthday cake.

I think she still had a fun party even though she didn't feel well. We had crafts, face painting, balloons and spaghetti. (All things that when you are three you think they are pretty awesome.)

And here are the pictures... in a practically random order, because I'm tired of fighting with blogger. :)

I think this camera (gift from my parents) was the hit of the party.

That's my Dad. I swear he volunteered for this.

That's my husband. I can't swear, but I bet he volunteered for that too.

So awesome that the very best family picture we got, Bug has her finger in her sister's ear. Nice.
