Then, Daddy says, "If you smile for a picture, I'll give you some chocolate."
One Whole Week
Yesterday little Peanut (aka BabyAwesome) turned ONE WEEK OLD.
What a week it was!
We made it home from the hospital in one piece on Wednesday night, and managed to just make it through a very rough night… only to be followed by Thursday, when her big sister, Bug, started throwing up while at “school.”
Poor little Bug was sick for about 24 hours, and started perking up – just in time for J to come down with the flu bug on Saturday.
All this while, I’m juggling a very small baby who wants to eat CONSTANTLY and feels very strongly against sleeping during normal night time hours. And hoping and praying that she/I don’t get sick as well.
By Sunday morning I was at my wits end. I called my Mom in tears and only managed to get out, “I’m just really overwhelmed.”
Thank goodness for Mom. She was here within an hour with Pepto, and just being here made everything better. (Poor Mom, she’s got the flu now too, though.)
Monday little Peanut had her first doctor’s appointment, which went great… the stats:
J is feeling better and getting back to normal, and back to work. And Bug is off this morning to go swimming with her Moo-moo.
Last night, we had a relatively peaceful night. Peanut still ate about every 2.5 hours – but went back to sleep in between (thank God!) so I got a little sleep in there, and today I’m feeling like,
Yes – we can do this.

Weight: 6lbs 10oz (16%)
that’s a whole pound gained since Wednesday! She’s obviously nursing like a champ
Length: 19.5” (39%)
OFC (head): 13” (8%)

Home!
We're home from the hospital, and trying to get settled in. Life with TWO is a whole lot different than bringing home one!
We had a bit of a rough night last night... little Peanut decided that between 11 and 4am she wanted to nurse every half hour. And then Miss Bug decided to get up around 2 am and join us.
There was a moment, attempting to stay awake and upright, while sitting in our (full size) bed, nursing an infant, with a two year old and J attempting to sleep next to me that I thought to myself, Whoa, this is our LIFE now.
J told me this morning his thought was, We really need a bigger bed.
One Day More...
Since little miss Awesome hasn't made her appearance yet, we're heading to the hospital for a scheduled induction at 7:30 a.m. TOMORROW morning!
We'll keep you posted!

The First Big Snow
39 Weeks (And STILL Pregnant)
Still here. And still pregnant.
Nope. No induction yesterday.
I called J after my appointment and told him, in my whiniest voice, "I'm going to be pregnant forever!"
I don’t know why I expected this pregnancy to be any different than the last. I just was really hoping to not have to stick out the WHOLE 40 weeks.
It seems as though everyone I know who was pregnant along with me has long since had their babies… and to top it off, they all had them early.
Sorry – done whining now!
The status is that all things are still the same… although I’m not having as much pain as I was, so that’s good.
I’m thankful that all things are still good and praying for a healthy baby. That’s what I need to focus on right now. And after my momentary self pity party I’m feeling much better, thank you.
Christmas 2009
Santa Claus, of course, visited... and Bug was really excited about opening presents. She woke up with a princess soccer ball on her bed (from Santa) and has been sleeping with a soccer ball most nights since then.
We spent the morning opening presents, then went to my parents house and opened more presents and had a pancake breakfast. Then, we came home, took a nap, and headed to J's parent's house to open even more presents and have a wonderful dinner.
We LOVE how close family is... and that we can see both sides in one, relatively relaxing day.
Highlights for us (and Bug) was "princess" jewelry (which is already broken and gone to the trash)... and after receiving the princess jewelry she immediately needed to put her tu-tu on. I just got such a kick out of her opening a tool set with great thrill - wearing a tu-tu and the jewelry.
