Borrowed this gem from my mom, because 25 year-old cookbooks are very inspirational and entertaining. And while I'm not necessarily reading it chronologically. I am definitely reading it all.

Great quote! haha I have The Frugal Gourmet Cooks Italian and it is also filled with his quirkiness and colorful descriptions of food throughout.
I enjoy that quote! And I really want to grow some mushrooms... the family friendly kind!
